Domestic stock market indices rose for the second consecutive day as tensions between Israel and Iran eased. Falling oil prices also had a negative impact on our market indices, which came together to create a positive environment. While shares of all sectors performed well, IT and media sector shares mainly gained. Midcap and smallcap shares also performed well by one and a half percent. In this sequence, Sensex gained more than 700 points, while Nifty reached the level of 25,250.

Impact of international markets
With strong signals from international markets, Sensex started the morning with a moderate gain at 82,448.80 points (previously closed at 82,055.11). It moved in gains throughout the day.

The index, which touched a high of 82,815.91 points, finally closed at 82,755.51 with a gain of 700 points. The Nifty also settled at 25,244.75 with a gain of 200 points. The rupee exchange rate against the dollar was 86.07.

Sector-wise share performance
Except for BEL, Kotak Mahindra, and Axis Bank shares, all other shares ended in profit. Titan, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, and TCS shares mainly gained. While Brent crude continues to trade at $67.60 per barrel in the international market, an ounce of gold is trading at $3340. Sentiment was boosted by a strong trend in global markets and a decrease in geopolitical tensions.
