This book covers the events of 1975
On 25 June 1975, Emergency was declared in the country, which is considered an undeclared attack on Indian democracy. The book The Emergency Diaries exposes the horrific truths of this dark period, in which violation of civil rights, censorship, and political repression were at their peak.
Today marks 50 years since the imposition of Emergency in the country. Many leaders including PM Narendra Modi celebrated this day as Constitution Hatya Diwas. PM Modi said that this is one of the darkest chapters in the history of Indian democracy. He also mentioned a book in which his struggle and journey during the Emergency has been mentioned.

Regarding this book, PM Modi himself said in his post on the social media platform X, "When the Emergency was imposed in the country, I used to be a youth pracharak of the RSS. The anti-emergency movement was a learning experience for me. It reaffirmed the importance of protecting our democratic structure. Also, I got to learn a lot from people associated with the political field."
He further said, “I am glad that Bluecraft Digital Foundation has compiled some of those experiences in the form of a book with a foreword by HD Deve Gowda (former Prime Minister), who himself was one of the stalwarts of the anti-Emergency movement.”
